Another Tuesday – Kelsey Christensen

Another tue PIC

Well its just Another Tuesday and I am here with Kelsey Christensen!

{Click play and listen while you read and look at pictures below of Kelsey’s life}

Kelsey and I have known each other since 7th grade. We went to the same middle school and played sports together. Through moving away and back and leaving again for college we have managed to remain good friends even through years of losing touch. I always know a good friend is one who can go a year or two without talking and then pick up right where you left off on a moments notice. When Kels and I reconnected it felt as if it was yesterday that we were eating Hershey’s chocolate syrup straight from the bottle and sneaking boys into the basement. (Hopefully our parents aren’t reading this…cough boys? no I said TOYS*) We were quite a pair.

Kelsey is now teaching Kindergarten in Sioux Falls, SD. She has an amazing heart for children and it is so fun to hear her stories and insight. The school Kelsey works at is a title school, so she deals with much more than the education aspect of being a teacher. Her kiddos are living in poverty and struggle at home. Kelsey is also a caretaker, protector, and provider for these children on top of being their teacher. Her bubbly personality and awesome creativity matched with a beautiful soul makes her an amazing teacher. So far hearing what she has done in her classroom, I am looking forward to what she can accomplish in the future. She is truly a game changer for her kids. I am so excited to have her here for an interview.

On this week’s Another Tuesday episode she talks about her job, the struggles, rewards, and routines. She also talks about her personal life, likes and dislikes. She is also the worlds greatest Aunt to some adorable little boys and an amazing girlfriend to an up and coming musician. Kelsey takes us through another Tuesday in her life.

If you like what you hear and you want to reach out to Kelsey personally or sponsor her classroom please email her here at Kelsey.christensen@k12.sd.us (We would love it if she could get some help with new books for her little tykes!)

{The Teacher} (Seriously when has a kindergarten teacher ever been this cute?)
