Hi loves,

Ok I totally want to tell you all about yoga school yesterday but first, rant: One of my male facebook friends shared a post commenting about how women should dress….comparing them to diamonds. This is so ironic on many levels but I wont go there. I tried so hard not to read it but I did and I could not hold back. I of course left a comment correcting his mindset. We have all seen this mindset before. The, “Well if you dress like a hooker you get treated like one.” mindset. First of all if you are a hooker does that mean its legal to assault you? I’m pretty sure it’s not. This mindset absolutely drives me insane and is the a huge problem in the face of women and their rights. The fact that men feel they even have the authority to make an opinion on how women should dress boggles my mind. Never once have I shared a post about my opinion on how men should behave or dress. It would never even cross someones mind to make a statement like that. It would be absurd.

But a man telling a woman how to dress or act….perfectly reasonable. GAH! My head just wants to explode. I see all the people who ‘like” this post and I can’t help but feel like there is a very contagious disease going around and I had to comment to stop the ludicrousy.

The post said that “supposedly” these two young girls went to a meeting (which I highly doubt bc the picture of the girls looked like they were 16 and this was supposedly a very high level professional meeting) and the chairman decided to give them a little life lesson about the way they were dressed. He said that all “precious” things that God created are covered and hard to find. Like diamonds, oil, coal….

What was that? Oh, comparing women to natural resources? Oh yes of course. I am always getting out of line thinking I am a human or something….

He said that diamonds are hard to get and covered so that “miners” have to go after them in a “legal means.” Is this guy serious? He goes on to say that if diamonds were just out in the open anyone could mine them “illegally.”

Those silly “illegal miners.” If only the diamonds were smart enough to stay covered up then the “illegal miners” would stay away!! Right?!

Oh wait….

Bottom line is that I am sad that today I still have to explain why “illegal mining” is not the fault of the diamonds.

WHO RUNS THE WORLD?! Girls!  (plays Beyonce song)  😉 Ok I feel better now.

Moving on.

Yesterday was my first day of yoga school and it was more incredible than I could have imagined. Aside from traveling to india to study directly under a guru I don’t think there is a better place to study yoga. This place is legit, with 3 generations of yogi masters who have passed down their yoga practices to this place. They have a fire temple and a temple dedicated to the GODDESSES!? Ummm hello! This is so me.

Aside from the incredible education I will get there, it is located up in the mountains in the Roosevelt Forest. The views are incredible. They have solar powered greenhouses and grow their own food, and chickens and a pond and a sauna…..I could live here.

I am so excited for this adventure.

Thanks for following along!

Talk to you soon
