hi dolls, I just finished writing a piece for an online magazine. They asked me to write about my experience living in the mountains etc. […]

I can’t believe its September friends….

Time is flying and I never seem to make time for writing. I am hoping that with my new schedule I will get more writing in.

Since my last post I became engaged and I am starting yoga training today!

Trav proposed on his birthday on top of a mountain. It was a fairytale. He amazes me in so many ways. The planning has begun and I am constantly staring at white lacy dresses 🙂

I have been practicing yoga for a decently long time now. I started in college and have kept up with it off and on. I continued while pregnant and picked it back up after I had Phoenix. Recently I have been going every day. One day I just decided I would be a great instructor and now I have been given the opportunity to go to a yoga school up in the mountains. It’s an incredible place and I feel like the luckiest to go there.

Yoga is not just a work out for me. Yoga encompasses a huge part of my life. Yes there is the obvious physical benefits but I found and fell in love with yoga for all the other reasons. My freshman year of college was a little overwhelming…I had a very bad case of protestant work ethic. I somehow managed three jobs and a full time class schedule. One of my jobs was working with children with severe behavioral problems and it was the most intense and stressful job I’ve ever had. Also the best job I’ve ever had. Needless to say I was starting to deteriorate and then I found yoga.

Every night when I got home I made it to the rec center for yoga and I remember feeling so confused and in awe after class. No matter how stressed I was or what was going on in my life when I started yoga it all somehow faded away. It was my peace.

I want to facilitate that peace for others. I hope someday to open my own studio. I have lots of ideas. Lots.

The world can be a scary place sometimes, if we could all just step into the peace of a yoga class and set it all down for just an hour I think we would all benefit.

Talk to you later 🙂
