hi dolls, I just finished writing a piece for an online magazine. They asked me to write about my experience living in the mountains etc. […]

Hi Heroes and Heroines,

Today I spent most of my time, thinking, hiking, reading and listening. I had three thoughts that took up most of that time, so here they are:

1. On our way home from hiking I was listening to the new Mumford and Son’s album. In one of their songs he talks about how no flame can burn forever referring to love or a relationship (at least this is how I interpreted the song). This kinda made me mad. What sad thought. Love can never last?

Of course a flame can last forever. If a flame is taken care of and nurtured and give fuel to burn it will burn forever. Fire is much like a relationship in that if given the initial spark and then left unattended it will die and leave nothing but ashes in it’s wake. But a fire that is carefully nurtured and given what it needs can last as long as you wish to take care of it. So take care of your relationships if you want them to last. Falling in love is not just this magical thing that you don’t have to think about, be aware of, or take care of. At first it is like that but eventually all relationships take effort, understanding and nurturing.

2. I am reading a book called Natural Born Heroes right now and it rules.

Our culture has killed the every day hero. Heroes are people with super powers in comic books, not something that each of us can tap into.

This book has convinced me to tap in to my heroic powers. I have not read that far into it but I am already in love. At first I thought it was silly but the messages in this book are real and applicable. How does one become heroic? If you were put in a massively terrifying situation would you be a hero or saved by one? I want to be one and so should all of you.

Read this book.

3. I love being transparent.

I made a small post on Instagram about this today but I wanted to go into more detail here. Being transparent with the world via the internet has taught me so much. It has forced me to find what I truly believe about life, what I like, what I want. I feel like in the last few months I have truly dialed that in and found my own style and my dream. Lots of people may see social media as a silly way to simply pass time but I see it as the ultimate platform for self expression with limitless possibilities. IT’S AMAZING.

A long time ago I got comfortable in front of the camera because Travis literally ALWAYS had them on. Filming everything all the time. It made me recognize where my insecurities lie and allowed me to reconcile them. This process is still going on with me and probably always will, but how fun to be learning how to love yourself more and more every day?

***Also I am SO excited because today I got my first ever donation to my blog. This literally made me scream out loud with joy. Not because I am blogging to make money but because I am blogging to make an impact on peoples daily lives and the donations let me know that I am doing that. I can’t wait to continue to grow and audience and share my world with you all! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the giver of that donation. You made me smile and gave me a new energy to keep going on this journey.
