Ugh it’s been soooo long!

The last week was rough. Trav and I are dubbing it as “The Great Purge of 2015”

Yes it is exactly like it sounds. Our whole household (including guests who stayed with us) had a stomach bug. Lots of…..purging.

It is interesting that this time of year is dubbed “flu season.” Having just gone through the purge myself, I think it can be a good thing for a person to go through, maybe necessary.

Recovered now, I feel stronger, healthier, detoxed and ready to keep everything that I put in my body clean and healthy. I think it is good to be reminded of what good health feels like. This little flu bug made me appreciate my health and my families health more than ever. I am glad we went through it, but I am glad it is over.

In other news, Phoenix turned 1. Yep, my baby is officially a walking, babbling, tantrum throwing toddler.

His birthday party was incredible and my heart is dazzled by the love that he was shown. He is the luckiest little boy alive.

As far as my yoga things…..they are going good I think. I made five videos a little over a week ago. I wasn’t able to make one in the last week or so because we have been crazy busy. I plan to record another video tomorrow. I am actually really excited about the class. It is very different and fun.

Today for some reason my insecurities have reared their ugly heads. The yoga world is very intimidating, especially for teachers. Everyone is showcasing their amazing asanas and I’m over here just trying to get my heels to the ground during down dog haha. Sometimes I get down on myself for not having a better practice.

But this is what yoga is all about. It is about working from where you are to expand and grow as a person.

I hope my classes can give beginners a view of what “real” life yoga looks like. I hope that through my videos people can see that as time goes by your body changes with you. And even after having a baby you can always start again. The fear of failing stops many of us from even beginning. I refuse to allow my fear to impact my life.

Yoga is a life encompassing journey. It is not a workout. It is not about physical ability. It is about openness, grace, sweetness, compassion, love, and spreading that love to others. It is about expanding your mind, letting go of all the self talk and limitations you put on yourself. This is why I am a yoga teacher. This is why I practice yoga daily. This is why I want to be a part of its expansion and sharing with others.

I hope you are all happy and well
