Hi Loves,

I hope you all are well. I am doing well. Getting back into the swing of things. Right now I am reading a book called “Creativity Unleashing the Forces Within” by Osho. It’s sooooo good. For some reason creativity has been a theme in my life recently.

Does that ever happen to you? Out of no where a theme just arises and pops up everywhere? Its odd but so cool. I didn’t particularly seek books out about creativity but they just showed up, along with many other situations involving creativity.

I love thinking about creativity as a vital part of life. As important as breath itself. Osho says that the “new human” must be as meditative as Buddha, as loving as Krishna, and as creative as Michelangelo. He said that this is the new frontier. The (wo)man who can be balanced in all three of these categories will be the next Buddha.

I love the idea that spirituality, love, and creativity are the three vital parts of life. I agree completely.

I have also been expanding my idea of what creativity means, and how to use it, when to use it, and who can use it.

Historically I associated creativity with artistry, or painting, or music, or drawing, writing, or cooking. I never thought of it as a thread that you should weave into every task every day every moment. I also thought it was something that was reserved for talented people. Talented artists, musicians, writers….not me. Who am I that I get to be creative? Who am I to paint? No one is going to buy it or maybe even see it.

Well thats all bullshit. We are humans and therefore we want to create things. Thats how it has been since the beginning of time. As young children we created constantly. It was our greatest pleasure. Now as adults we don’t think we are worthy enough to create? So silly.

Why do you pray or meditate? Why do you go to church or temple? If your answer has anything to do with other people or entities/deities you are doing it wrong. Just like creativity. You pray, meditate, and go to church because it gives you clarity on life, you feel better after doing so, you have more energy, you have more love to give, you are more whole.

This is the same reason you should paint, sing, write, draw, play, build forts, rearrange furniture, make music. Because just as spirituality is important for your health and well being so is creativity. It is vital to your humanness.

Creativity, love, spirituality…..they are all mysterious, mystical, mythical. No one knows WHY we need love, but we do. Why we need spirituality, but we do. Same with creativity….we just need it. You NEED it.

In the same way people disagree, and have different understandings about what love and spirituality should look like, same with creativity. Everyone does it different. Some people devote their entire lives to spirituality, and some to creativity. Some make their living off creativity. Some may not. No matter what thought creativity is vital.

Anyways, I am just so excited about being creative. In everything everyday. And I am excited to share it. Because it is more fun to share than to not share. It is more fun and enjoyable to go to church with a group of people and share together that experience. Same with creativity.

Lots of people go to church, not so many people live in a cave alone to discover enlightenment. Same with creativity, you don’t have to hide in your closet late at night painting. Paint and then share that shit! Share it all!!!!

You don’t have to be a photographer to take cool pictures and share them.

You don’t have to be a famous writer to have a blog.

You don’t have to be a Victoria’s Secret model to feel sexy and know it and show it….and then….yep SHARE IT.

Paint. Create. Share. Write. Make fancy food. Make it look fancy. Decorate your house. Be weird. Sing in the car. Let people stare. They stare because they wish they could sing and not care too.

Here I am, belting out Adele so you guys don’t have to feel so alone and weird. We can belt it out together. Freaks. We are all freaks.

Namaste,

XOXO
